Founder of Cooper Golding

Paula Golby

Paula is one of the founders of Cooper Golding Recruitment and is passionate about both business and recruitment. Having started her career in 1998 there isn’t too much she hasn’t seen or experienced within the industry. Paula has worked with both multi nationals and SME’s and always strives to offer a collaborative and consultative approach to both businesses and candidates alike, ensuring values and cultural alignments are linked, just as much as skill sets. She feels the greatest pleasure when a successful link is achieved and businesses can flourish and grow and candidates gain their perfect role! Paula is also a committee member of Barnstaple’s Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) where she is keen to lobby on policy, in particular infrastructure and transport for North Devon. In her home town of Barnstaple, she loves nothing more than spending an afternoon walking on the beaches or cycling on the Tarka trail or having food and drinks with family and friends near and afar. She also loves travelling and going away on short breaks to different cities and countries across Europe and indeed the world(when time permits)

Alex Farmery

Alex Farmery joined Cooper Golding as a temporary worker, however it was soon apparent that her skills were invaluable. Alex has run her own business previously with her husband and been a Senior Administrator/PA in Bristol. She is ultra organised and keeps the back office running smoothly and efficiently. Having recruited for her own business Alex is also our Account Manager and resources Business Support/Commercial personnel for our clients where there is a continuous need for personnel. Alex really gets to grips with the clients needs both as a skill set but also their personality fit and culture too and conversely really cares about linking candidates correctly to match their own aspirations! In her spare time she enjoys being with her husband and two boys. As well as being a keen outdoor and fitness advocate you may also see her running in Barnstaple or Skiing in the Alps!!

Julie Boundy

Julie is the latest Link to Cooper Golding. She has over 5 years` experience within temporary recruitment and specifically in North Devon where she has linked many personnel to local employers of choice. Julie will be focussing on Cooper Golding Temporary Solutions, a unique, personable and bespoke service to North Devon businesses and candidates for both commercial and industrial/manufacturing/warehouse temporary work. In her spare time, Julie enjoys nothing more than being with her little granddaughter and family. She also thoroughly enjoys arts and crafts – particularly with driftwood, making trees. She loves the surroundings of North Devon and walks and collects driftwood on the local spectacular beaches.

Debbie

Debbie Ashley

Debbie joined Cooper Golding in April 2017 with a vast array of customer service experience including having her own Driving school and owning and running her own Tearoom. She also has a very strong background in sales having trained to be a Fertiliser Trader for 7 years. She prides herself on her work and following things through to completion in addition to being extremely conscientious. Debbie moved to Devon from Lincolnshire 12 years ago and feels that she can finally
class herself as a Local!! Debbie will be covering the Commercial side of the business locally in North Devon and Torridge, she will offer those seeking permanent and contract roles within an office environment and clients seeking personnel within this environment an exceptional service. If you are an Administrator, Sales person, looking to develop in Marketing or Accounts or any other role in the office, then Debbie will be delighted to speak with you. Debbie is also studying for her REC exam, which is the governing body for the recruitment industry, to ensure she can offer a truly consultative and compliant service to candidates and clients alike. In her spare time, she loves walking her dog and you might also see her at the Ilfracombe Gig Rowing club which she joined 7 years ago and takes part in lots of regattas across the South West.

Andy

Andrew Leavy

In the last 11 years, Andy’s career has elevated from Recruitment Consultant, Senior Recruitment Consultant, Area Manager, National Sales Manager, co-launching a business in 2011 through to becoming a Sales Director in 2014. During his period of employment, he created and implemented a strategy for guaranteed earnings and training provisions temporary workers, thus enabling a guaranteed fulfilment on clients staffing requirements.

Formerly a Midlands based business owner, with a client based found across the United Kingdom, his business enabled him to work with clients needing consultation, development and implementation of activities and strategies in matters such as, advertising, business development, employment law and legislation, marketing, payroll, training and recruitment.

In 2016, Andy closed the company after the founding shareholders and partners decided to focus on solely providing a payroll provision for the recruitment sector. The partners continue to operate a payroll company, releasing Andy to focus on his true passion of Business Development in the recruitment sector.

With a broad knowledge of construction, human resources, IT, logistics, manufacturing, marketing and media and previous client base that ranges from start-ups to blue chips, Andy’s relocation from the Midlands to the often-sunny shores of North Devon enables him to focus on providing recruitment solutions to wide range of clients here in the South West and beyond.

In his spare time Andy enjoys a spot of DJ’ing and taking in the sites and contours of the local area by walking with his partner and their two dogs.

Jess

Jessica Williams

“Jessica’s recruitment career started in 2013 as 360 recruitment consultant for the UK’s second largest independently owned employment agency.

After an  opportunity to move on to a Team Leader role for a local agency arose in 2015, Jessica progressed to providing recruitment solutions and business development in multisector capacity, providing temporary and permanent workforce solutions to the commercial and industrial business sectors.

Seeing an opportunity to supply those sectors with a professional contractor and interim workforce solution, Jessica moved to Cooper Golding in summer 2017.

During her free time, Jessica regularly attends a gym, enjoys days out with her friends and family,  and goes to the occasional music festival when the weather permits.”
