Receptionist (Fixed Term Contract)
Tiverton location
8:15 AM - 12:45 PM, Monday to Friday
Duration: Mid August to Mid October
 
About our Client:
Our Client is a manufacturer with a presence in the Tiverton area. 
 
What is the purpose of the Receptionist:
We are seeking an efficient and helpful Receptionist to join our clients team on a fixed term basis to cover Mid August to Mid October. This role requires you to work mornings, with a handover to the existing receptionist who will cover the afternoons.
 
What are the responsibilities of the Receptionist?
  • Provide a comprehensive telephone answering service – answer all incoming calls, taking messages, or transferring calls as necessary.
  • Receive visitors, prepare and issue visitor badges.
  • Sort and distribute incoming post; collate and dispatch UK mail via Royal Mail.
  • Manage petty cash, handle private postage monies and create month-end spreadsheets for postage costs.
  • Maintain franking machine – install ink, top up credit, and perform updates.
  • Maintain noticeboard on the ground floor.
  • Keep e-learning updated in the HR Manager system.
  • Support the L&D Advisor with organizing mechanical & handling equipment training.
  • Data entry
  • Update evacuation lists and Health & Safety checklists weekly.
  • Report all H&S issues to the line manager, including near misses, property damage, or injuries.
  • Comply with all Risk Assessments (RAs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Follow 5S principles within the work area, keeping your area tidy and safe.
  • Ensure compliance with all legislation and audit requirements.
  • Follow all company Policies and Procedures.
What are the qualifications and experience for the Receptionist?
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel - data entry experience desirable
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - previous office or customer service experience a bonus
  • Ability to prioritise workload 
  • Great at organising and being efficient.
