Town Ranger PAY £12.21 per hour
 
Temporary seasonal work based in Bideford
Monday to Thursday 8.00 am to 4.30 pm – Friday 8.00 am to 3.30 pm
Temporary role to start on the 1st of May to end of September
 
What is the purpose of the Town Ranger?
To establish and maintain a high standard of maintenance and cleanliness in the town in adherence to Health and Safety guidelines.
This role is both indoors and outdoors.
 
What are the responsibilities of the Town Ranger?

• Variety of general and semi-skilled maintenance (e.g.: carpentry, painting)
• Cleaning activities (e.g.: Mowing/Strimming grass, litter picking, street cleanliness) using hand tools and machinery
• Disposing of all wastes and recycling
• Primary responder to Market call-outs
• Identify any cleaning or maintenance activity to be done
• Update of maintenance/cleaning records as required
• Regular monitoring of Ford Woods
• Maintenance and watering of flower beds and plants
• Regular check of the hanging baskets
• Getting the town ready for events
• Daily Check and routine maintenance of the assigned vehicle, tools, and equipment

 
What are the qualifications and experience for the Town Ranger?

• Maintenance background
• Attention to detail
• Communication
• Teamwork
• Experience in operating gardening machinery and Hand tools
• Horticulture background is an advantage
• Chapter eight (traffic management) would be an advantage
• Clean driving licence (No more than 3 points) with Trailer towing experience
• Flexibility is essential
• Heavy lifting

What will you have in return:

• £12.21 per hour paid weekly in arrears
• 2 breaks of 15 minutes breaks paid (+30 minutes unpaid)
• Monday to Thursday working 8.00 am to 4.30 pm – Friday 8.00 am to 3.30 pm
• Parking on site
